My usual style of photography is sweeping views, early morning light, colourful skies… However, come autumn time, and with the New Forest virtually on my doorstep, focus often changes to capturing the gorgeous colours that Mother Nature provides.
Colour was in every direction, and just walking through the forest was a real pleasure, but I still needed that vital component to make a landscape image work – light, and gorgeous early morning light to really highlight the colours, shape and form. Having set myself up and made a composition to highlight the vastness of the trees and wall of colour, it was just a question of waiting for the sun to creep high enough…
